Iagmh Awards

The rules/regulations for the papers to be presented under the various award categories are as follows:

IAGMH/INTAS Award :

Evaluation of the paper : The Chairman of the Awards Committee will intimate the principal author in writing about the type of the award for which paper has been submitted. The procedure will only start after the principal author has confirmed that he/she submitted the paper for the same award within 10 days of the date of the letter/email from the Chairman of the Awards Committee. In case of no confirmation, paper will not be processed.

Selection Criteria : The award papers will be evaluated by a committee of at least 5 independent members of high integrity in mental health, in an objective manner in following areas:

The total score will be 50 & each section will be assigned 10 points.

The Winners:The award winners will be decided in accordance to the marks obtained. The first three highest scorers will be given Ist, IInd & IIIrd prize. If there is a tie for any position, the winner will be decided on the basis of presentation.The tie papers will be presented in the Annual Conference of the same year. On the basis of consensus between Chairman Awards Committee, President IAGMH & Organizing Secretary, 3 independent judges will be appointed who will assess the presentation out of an additional 15 marks (out of 5 marks by each judge) & thus the Award will be decided adding the total presentation marks to evaluation marks in favor of highest scorer.

Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Gautam Oration Award in Geriatric Mental Health :

Evaluation of the Paper: The Chairman of the Awards Committee will intimate the nominee in writing about the award for which the nomination has been submitted.

Selection Criteria: The published paper & biodata of nominee submitted for award will be evaluated by a team of 3 experts from the field of mental health constituted by the Chairman Awards Committee.

The Winner: The submitted nominations will be evaluated by the members of the awards committee in an objective manner considering following areas:

Best Nomination judged by independent judges & announced by Chairman Awards Committee shall be invited for oration.

Smt. Shweta Tiwari Memorial Young Researcher Award in Geriatric Mental Health:

The applicants should have previous publication in Geriatric Mental Health and should be <45 years of age.

Evaluation of the Paper:The Chairman of the Awards Committee will intimate the principal author in writing about the type of the award for which paper has been submitted. The procedure will only start after the principal author has confirmed that he/she submitted the paper for the same award within 10 days of the date of the letter/email from the Chairman of the Awards Committee. In case of no confirmation, paper will not be processed.

Selection Criteria: The published paper & manuscript of the paper submitted for award will be evaluated by a team of 5 experts from the field of mental health constituted by the Chairman Awards Committee.

The Winners: The submitted paper will be evaluated by the members of the awards committee in an objective manner considering following areas:

The total score will be 50 for each manuscript & each section will be assigned 10 points. On the basis of scores of individual manuscripts, total scores will be calculated & top 3 scorers will be selected.

- 3 top ranked shortlisted applicants will be invited & allowed to present their unpublished research paper during Award Session of IAGMH Annual Conference
- The shortlisting will be done 1 month prior to the dates of IAGMH Annual Conference & short listed authors will be informed simultaneously.
- The presentations will also be evaluated by a team of 3 judges appointed by Chairman Awards Committee in consultation with the President IAGMH & Organizing Secretary at that time. The presentation marking will be done out of 5 marks by each judge.
-Results will be made & declared on the basis of higher marks obtained adding up the evaluation & presentation marks.
-The winner will be decided based on the maximum marks obtained out of the 50 marks of evaluation & 15 marks of the presentation.

Common note for all awards:

As decided during EC meeting of the IAGMH held in Bangalore during IPS, 2013 all the assessment/evaluation documents for the awards including individual referee referral, score sheets, etc. will be maintained by the Chairperson Awards Committee.

The awards will be presented in the same year. The IAGMH – INTAS Award and Prof. Shiv Gautam Oration winners will receive the award in the inaugural function(medal, certificate and cash prize). The only change in the above can be if there is a tie for the IAGMH- INTAS award, in which case the winner will be announced in the valedictory function along with the winner of the Shweta Tiwari Memorial Award.
